Incline Treadmill Ruck
Walking a steep incline under a weight vest. High aerobic cost with no running impact, which makes it useful for base building and for loaded-carry endurance.
- 01Walk five minutes flat at an easy pace to warm up before adding incline.
- 02Set the incline between ten and fifteen percent and a walking speed of four to six kilometres per hour.
- 03Walk unsupported with the arms swinging, letting the effort settle at RPE 5 to 6.
- 04Hold for twenty to forty-five minutes, adjusting speed rather than grabbing the rails if it gets hard.
- 05Drop the incline and walk flat for five minutes to finish.
- 01Hands off the rails, that is the whole exercise.
- 02Tall posture, do not fold over the vest.
- 03Steady breath you could hold for the full duration.
- 01Holding the handrails, which removes most of the load and makes the displayed effort meaningless.
- 02Leaning forward from the waist, which shifts work off the glutes and onto the lower back.
- 03Loading the vest heavy before the aerobic base exists, which turns the session into a slow grind.
Note: Reference material, not a prescription. Load, volume and whether this movement suits you at all depends on your assessment — if something hurts, stop and get it looked at.
